About Steve

Steve Bracety has been a dedicated member of the Prescott Valley community for more than 20 years. He and his wife, Kathryn, recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and have built their lives in Prescott Valley, where they raised their daughter, Ann. Ann attended Yavapai College, graduated from Northern Arizona University, and is now a high school English teacher.

Steve has a long-standing record of professional leadership and community service. In 2014, Prescott Area Leadership recognized him as its Man of the Year at its annual banquet, honoring his commitment to leadership and service in the community.  While serving as Board Chair for the Arizona Community Foundation, Steve led an early childhood literacy initiative to address a critical need to improve second-grade reading scores.

In addition to serving on the Yavapai College District Governing Board for the past four years, Steve is an active member of the Prescott Valley Rotary Club and the Early Bird Lions Club. He recently concluded a distinguished 30-year career in the hospitality industry, where he served in various executive leadership roles. Today, Steve brings that extensive leadership experience, commitment to community, and passion for supporting local businesses to his role as President and CEO of the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Steve's Goals
as District Governing Board Member

  • Student Success - providing an economic path to a post-secondary degree.  Provide opportunities for students to graduate with little to no debt and be recruited to meaningful employment.
     

  • Attainable Housing – through public private partnerships, largely due to our government status, we can work with developers to build housing at a lower cost and that savings can be passed down to students and faculty. 
     

  • Workforce Development- educate our workforce through various degree offers. As the President / CEO of the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce, I am boots on the ground in recognizing job skills needed for a vibrant workforce.
     

  • No tax increase 2027/2028 - These are uncertain times at both the Federal and Local level.  We need to be respectful as to what is happening in our households.  As District Governing Board Chair, I will not support raising taxes in 2027/2028.
